Ms. Friederike Bauer, journalist and author, holds a Master in Political Science and Communication Studies from the University of Munich, Germany, while parts of her credits towards graduation she has gained at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In her professional career she has been working as a political journalist or as a public information officer in the political sphere. Being a trained journalist she has writing and reporting experience for 20 years, starting out at the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”, Germany´s leading daily newspaper. There she worked for more than ten years at different desks and in different locations covering mainly foreign news. Then she went inside politics and gained experience in the German government (Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development) and later at the German Development Bank (KfW Entwicklungsbank). Friederike Bauer has written hundreds of articles on different topics and she is the author of several books, among them the worldwide first biography on the former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan – who was the first Subsaharan-African at the helm of the world organization. Friederike Bauer at present is working as a free-lance journalist and writer.
